The GLORY annual convention began in 2025 under the auspices of His Grace Bishop Mina of the Diocese of Mississauga, Vancouver, and Western Canada, for graduates and young professionals from North America.

General Information

What is GLORY? What does the acronym stand for? Who is the target audience? What’s happening?

GLORY (Graduates Living Out Righteousness in You) started in 2025 to bring together Coptic Orthodox graduates and young professionals in Western Canada and the United States in worship, spiritual growth, and fellowship. It is under the auspices of His Grace Bishop Mina of the Diocese of Mississauga, Vancouver, and Western Canada.

Who is this convention for?

Where is the convention being held?

The 2026 convention will take place in Canmore, Alberta at Canmore Inn & Suites.
Canmore is just minutes away from Banff National Park and about an hour from Calgary, AB. It is known for its incredible scenery, outdoor activities, and peaceful mountain atmosphere, making it the perfect setting for our convention.

When is the convention?

GLORY kicks off Friday, October 23 at 5:00 PM MST for check-in and wraps up Sunday, October 25 at 3:00 PM MST.  When booking flights, please allow for approximately a 1.5-hour drive to YYC airport.

For those who want to make the most of the trip, we’re offering an optional extra night to stay longer and explore Canmore or Banff at your own leisure.

How do I stay connected with the organizers & other attendees?

We’ll be using a WhatsApp group chat for all attendees and organizers before, during and after the convention – perfect for updates, reminders, and getting to know each other before the weekend even starts. The link to join will be sent out by email with your registration confirmation.

What does the registration fee include?

Your registration covers:

  • Accommodation at Canmore Inn & Suites (Single & Double Occupancy available)
  • Meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks) during our scheduled programming
  • All talks, sessions, and organized activities
  • Transportation to/from the Calgary airport

What is NOT included in the cost?

  • Flights or travel to Calgary
  • Personal expenses or activities outside of our scheduled programming

Are there payment plans or financial assistance options?

Is the registration refundable?

Registration is non-refundable. However, if you are unable to attend after registering, your registration can be transferred to another attendee.

Optional Extra Night

What is the optional extra night?

We are offering an additional optional night after the convention for those who want to spend more time in the area to explore. Please note, only accommodation is covered in the fees for the additional night. Registrants will be responsible for covering all other costs if they choose to spend an additional night.

Is transportation provided during the extra night?

No, participants are responsible for arranging and paying for transportation for the extra night. However, we will provide transportation to the airport on Monday.

Are there any activities planned for the optional extra night?

Nothing formal is planned by the GLORY team. This is unstructured, free time for you to explore Canmore/Banff, relax, or spend time with new friends if you wish to do so.

Accommodation

Will I have my own room?

We offer double occupancy options as the standard accommodation option. Single occupancy rooms are available at an extra cost.

Can I request roommates?

Yes, there will be an option during registration to provide names of preferred roommates.

What should I bring?

  • Comfortable clothing (including for outdoor activities)
  • Warm layers (Canmore weather can change quickly)
  • Toiletries
  • Bible/notebook
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Liturgy items: Tonias, head scarves, etc.

Travel & Transportation

How do I get to the convention?

Participants are responsible for booking their own flights to Calgary. We will provide transportation to and from the Calgary airport at designated times. Details on transportation pickups will be shared closer to the convention in September/October.

What airport should I fly into?

Calgary International Airport (YYC)

Can I drive instead?

Yes, if you prefer to drive, free parking will be available at Canmore Inn & Suites.

Schedule & Activities

What’s the schedule?

  • GLORY kicks off Friday, October 23 at 5:00 PM MST for check-in and wraps up Sunday, October 25 at 3:00 PM MST.
  • The finalized schedule will be posted on our Instagram page a few days before the convention, make sure to check it throughout the convention for the latest updates.

What does a typical day look like?

You can expect to attend liturgy, listen to lectures, participate in group discussions or workshops, have fun during free time and outdoor activities, and pray Tasbeha at the end of the day!

Will there be free time?

Yes, there will be time built into the schedule to relax and explore.
